A Little Bit About Us

Starting out as a farm in the 1800’s our quaint country inn has been in operation as a lodging and rooming house since prohibition. We were once even a local hot spot as a speak easy and dance hall.  In 2014 Steve’s dream came true when he was able to purchase the property. It is an ongoing labor of love as he works hard to update and expand our guestrooms, common areas and grounds to accommodate all types of guests and gatherings.

“Our first time in Maine and Steve was the perfect host to initiate our visit. The accommodations were lovely and Steve was a wealth of information and just down to earth friendliness. The location was also perfect – a short drive from all the areas we wanted to visit. Our room (upgraded to the efficiency as the room we wanted was not available – for the same price) was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. Had we needed something, I am confident Steve would have been happy to supply. Lovely continental breakfast with great coffee and Steve’s homemade banana bread. We would definitely return – thanks Steve!”

“I’ve stayed in several Inns in the area over the years. Hawks House and Steve offered the winning combination of beautiful accommodation and gracious hosting. Steve was flexible and friendly, the house, room and bath were clean, extremely comfortable and well appointed, and breakfast was delicious. I ate with several other guests on the large screened in porch. I was well rested after a long trip, ready to begin my next leg, and I look forward to another opportunity to visit Hawks House for a longer stay in the future.”

“Great place and very warm welcome from Steve who gave us expert guidance on the local eateries and activities. In the event we enjoyed a day at the wonderful Pemaquid Lighthouse and a fantastic day sea-kayaking off the East Coast. Very much hope to return sometime!”

“Steve was great and his Inn was fantastic as well. The Inn is very well located, with plenty to do in the area. The breakfasts were delicious, and Steve was full of useful information about the area and things to do there. When we had a slight concern, he was very accommodating and quick to fix it. Thanks Steve for a great stay.”

“Hawks inn is a welcoming, comfortable and very relaxing place to visit. Steve and the staff were really truly great hosts. The breakfasts were amazing and we really enjoyed our chats with Steve and the staff about the local area. The inn has a wonderful screened in porch that overlooks a serene back garden. There was a bit of road noise but this quiets down around 10pm and the fan in the room provides ambient noise if needed. We did not have any wait with the shared bathroom. The location is nicely situated for exploring the area. Highly recommend and we will return.”

“We found Steve a welcoming, affable host and fun to chat with. We arrived on a chilly nite to find a roaring fire in the huge living room fireplace. Our room was simple but clean and comfortable. Steve prepared a FULL continental breakfast for our early departure – even homemade banana bread. We appreciated his gesture to let us use the kitchen as our own. If you want to get away from it all, this might be just the ticket!”

“Steve’s BnB was as charming and warm as Steve is himself. The property was amazing, the town quaint and welcoming and the rooms cozy and clean as the rain came down.”
